Massachusetts State Gas Code Book Regulations Practical Hands-On Course
This course is designed as a troubleshooting gas course that works from the shut-off to the appliance.
This course is designed for the student who wishes to service both natural gas and L.P. heating equipment. This course will introduce various types of heating systems such as steam, forced warm air as well as hydronic heating systems. Students will become familiar with the burner components from the appliance shut off. A thorough foundation of wiring diagrams and control circuits will be covered. Hands-on troubleshooting of various gas burners, ignition systems, pressure and efficiency testing and heating components will be highlighted. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be granted 60 hours towards the required 450 hours to obtain their Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License.

This is a 15 week beginner course designed for individuals with no prior experience in the trade. The course consists of lecture and hands-on lab experience and is designed as a troubleshooting gas course that works from the shut-off the appliance. You will not be able to install or replace gas furnaces.
