Fireman Boiler Operator Per Diem
Company: Saint Vincent Hospital Location: Worcester Massachusetts
Operate the Hospital high pressure steam plant in accordance with Massachusetts law chapter 146 and CMR 522. Monitor and maintain boilers and associated equipment. Perform boiler water chemistry testing and adjust chemical feed as necessary. Perform hourly rounds and complete hourly logs. Take appropriate action to maintain continuous plant operation and report unresolved issues to supervisor. Monitor medical gas systems for alarms and alert appropriate personnel. Monitor Siemens building automation system for alarms and alert technicians as needed. Monitor diesel emergency generators, chillers and pneumatic systems. Comply with all company safety policies and emergency procedures. Maitain licensure in accordance with Department of Fire Services requirements. Maintain underground storage tank class C operator certification. Address incoming calls from hospital personnel and notify technicians as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Lead Fireman.
Qualifications: High school diploma and Second Class Fireman license required. Third Class Engineer preferred. Must have held and used required license for a minimum 2 years in a high pressure steam plant.
