Electrical Estimator

Job Description:
Established Massachusetts based contractor is seeking a full time Project Estimator or Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate initial project plans and specifications
- Prepare estimates and establish budgets for projects ranging from $1 million to $30 million
- Review contracts to ensure that everything related to the estimate is included and accounted for
- Manage and estimate complex project requirements
- Additional duties as determined by Executives
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years estimating experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical and/or site and civil construction
- Works with numbers accurately
- Self motivated
- Highly organized
- Understands and can execute take-offs of construction documents
- Full knowledge and understanding of contracts; general requirements, general conditions, plans, specs, addendums, etc.
- Ability to write proposal and complete estimate without guidance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and stay focused, as well as with a team
- Transportation,unic electrical, commations, or other contracting experience
- Familiarity with principals of cost estimating (computer based)
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera, Cost estimation programs
Preferred Extras:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil or Electrical)
- Previous experience in project estimating of large scale facilities and/or Federal and state contracts (medium to high voltage distribution projects and substation construction preferred)
